Dr. Zafar is a licensed psychologist and has built an accessible practice in New York over the course of 11 years. She has been trained in evidence-based practices, though she remains flexible in her approach in order to ensure personalized treatment.

Dr. Zafar offers accessible treatment for individuals who are seeking support. She is committed to embracing diversity of identity, experience and thought in therapy. Individual and couples therapy is available via Telehealth.

Dr. Zafar conducts in-person psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations and provides thorough feedback and detailed treatment recommendations.

Dr. Zafar is available for workshops and trainings and has experience in speaking about a variety of mental-health topics.

WHAT IS TELEHEALTH?

Telehealth, also referred to as telemedicine, telepsychology, is the use of technology to communicate and provide (mental) health assessments, diagnoses, interventions and information across a distance, as opposed to face to face. Each state has particular requirements that must be adhered to in order for a provider to utilize telehealth for treatment purposes.

VIDEO SESSIONS

All therapy sessions and consultations will take place via Simple Practice, a secure TeleHealth Platform. TeleHealth offers flexibility both in time and location.

In-person versus TeleHealth sessions is an important consideration when finding a new therapist. Often, patients feel more relaxed in the comforts of an environment of their choosing and many patients are able to meet at a time that historically would have not been feasible (e.g. during the work day) due to commute times to and from the therapists office.
